On this page I have detailed the following:

  • To Trial or not to trial

  • 4 different trial options

  • What to do on the day of a trial

To TRIAL OR NOT TO TRIAL?

Trials are a great tool for both the potential Client and the Artist. I have also now set up a “meet us” option so you know who is coming on the day and feel comfortable with the fit. See below for the 4 different trial options.

It not only allows you to see the Artists work but a chance to meet and make sure you both feel comfortable for the day.

You want to have a team around you for the day that you feel comfortable with and know they will make sure your time is easy, stress free and professional.

Having a trial also reduces stress on the day knowing that yourself and your Artist have decided on certain factors prior.

At my trials I often give my Clients some skincare advice, chat about their lipstick(s) for the day, what to pack in their bags, where they can go for dinner the night before, our timings for the day, do they want a run sheet etc - so it’s a nice time for us to meet up and connect.

Below are 4 different options to help you decide on the best course of action and what plan is the most suitable for you.

PLEASE NOTE IN THE HEIGHT OF OUR WEDDING SEASON WE ARE UNABLE TO DO TRIALS ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY OR SUNDAY.

  • There are two main probabilities you would wish for a trial prior to your event;

1). You are unsure about the Makeup Artist and wish to trial them prior to booking them for your event.

2). You are happy with the chosen Artist and want to see it all come to life along with the hair. Pair it all up and see your vision come to life making sure you are going to be happy with your desired looks and styles. This is a great time to bring along your hair adornments/veils/crown etc, try the earrings/jewellery on. Wear clothing in line with your dress colour so it is a more realistic match of how it will all look when put together.

  • 2 months prior is most relevant. Your hair length and skin toning (ie not having a trial in Winter when you are having a Summer wedding). It means your ideas are most likely decided upon - as in dresses/florals/ etc. 1 year out - a lot can change, so we generally don’t prefer to do a trial that far out.

Please see the other options available if you are not wanting a full trial.

Apologies, we don’t do trials on Fridays or at weekends.

  • That is absolutely fine!

This is ultimately your choice for sure!

For some people they just are happy for us to turn up on the day and go with the flow…… trusting us on the day and you will also be fine :)

Please see below this section are the different options, and we kindly ask you to fill out a questionnaire just to ensure we meet the brief on the day.

  • Please come wearing an outfit as close to the colour you will have on the day. It helps us to see the reflection of colour and how your skin tonings work.

If you are planning on being tanned on the day - be tanned for your trial.

Don’t wear makeup to your trial.

Bring pics and inspiration, a swatch of fabric from your dress(es) anything you think will help us to visualise and understand your vibe or theme.

  • I highly recommend a trial if you are indecisive or have a few different looks in mind. We spend time with you at the trial making sure you are 100% happy and well prepared for the day. We can see your hair colour and length etc, and plan for anything. We recommend trials are done closer to the day of your event. Plse bring veil or any other hair adornments with you to the trial.

We spend the time with you at the trial stage to ensure everything on the day is 100%.

We also do a mini plan for your day; discuss timelines, what other people would like on the day, confirm venue and make sure we have everything absolutely tied up.

We discuss pre-wedding prep, what to do with hair the night prior etc.

Anything else that needs to be covered, the trial is the perfect time.

Making brides happy is my No. 1 job

  • Lets meet

If you would like to meet me to ensure that I am the right fit for your special day and go through your desired makeup and/or hair looks, this is the perfect opportunity. It's a good idea to do this while you are planning your wedding or visiting Wanaka to meet other vendors. I am also happy to do it in the week of your arrival if you're comfortable with that. The session will take about an hour.

    ALLOW: 1 Hour

    COST: $50 per hour

WHERE: You are more than welcome to come to my studio or I can meet you in Wanaka for a coffee/wine.

  • VIDEO CALL

Let's schedule a Zoom or Google Meet session. This is a great chance for us to ask questions and get to know each other. Before the meeting, I will send a questionnaire so that I can understand your vision a bit better and we can discuss other details.

    ALLOW: Half Hour

    COST: $50 per Half Hour

  • NO TRIAL, MEET ON THE DAY

Super good as well. But we must do the pre-preparation and have all the ducks in a row. Please send images prior, of you, the outfit, your hair, face, and your desired looks. I do this about 70% of the time and it always works fabulously, but we need to have it all planned out prior. If you are indecisive or not sure, let's really make sure we have a solid plan. A questionnaire will be sent prior that is imperative you fill out.

WHAT TO DO ON THE DAY OF YOUR TRIAL(s)

  • Please park your car in the cul-de-sac.

    20 BEVAN PLACE.

  • We have a big white dog named Willow, who is very friendly. She might bark, but she's just saying hello. Let me know if you want me to put her inside before you arrive.

  • Please have your images screen-shotted to your phone.

  • You can bring as much or as little as you want to share. If you have any hair pieces, extensions, veils, etc., please bring them with you.

  • It would be helpful if you wear a colour similar to your outfit, so we can get a good idea of the tones and how the makeup and/or hair look together.

  • Make sure your face is clean and free of makeup, including mascara and BB cream.

  • Please let me know beforehand if you have any allergies or reactions, or if there are any products you don't want me to use.

  • Lashes are included but we just place them on at the trials so you can see the overall look. Please inform me if you are allergic to glue.

  • You are more than welcome to have people with you - but please let us know prior so we may allow enough room.

  • Please let us know if you are running late or anticipate any hold-ups.

  • Please let me know if you DO NOT want images on social media.
